2020 Rules

Join League

League Structure:

  • 2020 Will be a season unlike any other.  Due to uncertainty, season long rosters will prove to be challenging. 
  • The league consists of as many teams want to play with rosters selected each week by all owners. 
  • The league will effectively be a season long daily fantasy league, no head to head games, no initial draft, you set your lineup each week (same players are allowed) and the best score wins the week.
  • There will be no playoffs.
  • In the event of an NFL season less than 8 weeks, refunds will be issued, anything more than 8 weeks will be considered a season.  If there are less than 12 weeks some payouts will be revised (i.e. the weekly money will be redistributed) to pay out 100%.
  • League will be run on DraftKings.com and subject to their scoring, rules and roster limits.  You need to join the private league and enter the Main Weekly (not yet setup) contest each week.  You are free to create additional contests (for free or $$$) and go head to head with others as much as you want but the Main Weekly contest is the one that the league will be based around).

League Bylaws:

  • This document is the official bylaws of the league, you are responsible for knowing the rules that govern our league. There is no excuse for not knowing these, and ignorance is not an excuse!
  • These bylaws are posted on the league website (http://www.m3geeks.com).

Money Matters:

  • The cost of the league is $125, payable prior to week 1
  • Payments will be handled using TeamStake. Any payments not paid by the deadline will results in a $20 late fee
  • Detailed Payout info is to the right.

Rosters:

  • You will select a roster each week with a salary cap of $50,000
  • Legal Starting Lineup
    • 1 Quarterback
    • 2 Runningbacks
    • 3 Wide Receivers
    • 1 TE
    • 1 Flex
    • 1 Team Defense/Special Team

Scoring:

Transactions:

  • Each player locks at the start of their game.

Tiebreakers:

  • There are no tiebreakers, any ties will result in splitting money.

Season Length:

  • All 17 NFL weeks will be used.
  • Your best 12 weeks scores will be used to calculate season-long prizes.

Payouts are as follows but will be subject to adjustment based on final number of entries.  Examples of 10 and 20 team structure is below:

  • Weekly Prizes
    • $20 to weekly high points winner ($340)
    • $10 to weekly fun contest winner ($170)
  • Season Prizes
    • 1st: 24% of pot ($300)
    • 2nd: 16% of pot ($200)
    • 3rd: 8% of pot ($100)
    • 4th: 4% of pot ($50)
    • Season High Points: $90
  • Total Payouts: $1250 (100% of $ collected)

20 Teams

  • Weekly Prizes
    • $25 to weekly high points winner ($425)
    • $15 to weekly fun contest winner ($255)
  • Season Prizes
    • 1st: 28% of pot ($700)
    • 2nd: 20% of pot ($500)
    • 3rd: 10% of pot ($250)
    • 4th: 5% of pot ($125)
    • 5th: 3% of pot ($75)
    • 6th: 2% of pot ($50)
    • Season High Points: $120
  • Total Payouts: $2500 (100% of $ collected)

 

Weekly ‘Fun’ Prizes

Season Long – Each owner will be randomly allocated an NFL team, if that team has a COVID outbreak requiring a game to be cancelled then the owner gets $30 – Note this is only for the FIRST cancelled NFL game due to COVID and only payable to the guilty team.

Week 6: Greatest margin of victory
Week 7: Cliffdiver: Biggest drop off from week 6 to week 7

Week 11: Most team fantasy points in a losing effort – highest scoring loser
Week 12:
Week 13: Fewest team fantasy points in a winning effort – lowest scoring winner
